The town of Bel Air - considered to be the heart of Harford County - is the county’s center for governmental, educational, cultural, medical and retail operations. Bel Air sits on Route 1 (which has a bypass around Bel Air and Hickory, as well as a business route that runs through downtown), and is located just 21 miles northeast of Baltimore.

Tollgate Rd section of the Ma and Pa Trail. There's also the historic Ma and Pa Trail, offering miles of walking, biking, roller blading or running fun from Bel Air to Forest Hill.
Bel Air hosts a variety of annual activities, such as a Christmas Parade, Independence Day (July 4th) Fireworks and Celebration, the springtime Arbor Day festival, October's Film Festival, and the MD State BBQ Bash to name several.
